Creating an Album Cover

During these lessons we got to experiment taking pictures for a music album from a genre of our choice, I decided to look at the pop genre, choosing something which was lighthearted, bright, colourful and fun. I also got to look at using Corel photo software, which allows us to change the colours and overall appearance of our chosen picture. This gave the group a good chance to test the software to see if it would be something we could consider using for our actual Digipak, it also gave us a good chance to use equipment such as tripods and the cameras to take photos. Overall I found the Corel software quite complicated to use, and will consider using a different software to edit our photos for the Digipak and Magazine advert. To the left you can see my finish album cover, taking a photo I took of Kathryn and making it more suitable for the pop genre. I decided to name it 'Sunglasses' to highly emphasise the bright colourful sunglasses which she wearing. I also used the idea of 'line of focus', placing the artists name and and album name in areas of the picture which the audience will look and recognise first. I was very pleased with the outcome of this picture.
If you also click on the button named 'Album cover Analysis' it will link you to a much more detailed analysis I produced of the album cover.
