Animatic and Storyboard
To the left you can see our animatic for our music video 'Bruises' by Christian Smith. We all took part in making the animatic, with Annabelle taking the pictures and then the rest of us cutting and editing the clips together, syncing the pictures up with the song, this was made relatively easier because we had prior to making the animatic linked the storyboard images with the song, making it easier to distinguish where the pictures go regarding to the song.
The storyboard images were completed in a joint effort from myself, Kathryn and Felicity.
The animatic will make it a lot easier when it comes to editing our video and filming, because we can directly look at what shot we are supposed to be editing or shooting, and also we can play the song out loud, allowing us to accurately portray any lip syncing which needs to be done.

During these lessons we created our storyboard. The storyboard is the most important element of the music video planning. It allows us to accurately plan what shots we are going to do and plan how long each clip is going to be, aswell as writing down any particular shots we want to use, such as close ups and establishing shots. Myself and Kathryn decided that we wanted the storyboard to be longer than last years work, wanting the different shots to be more in depth and focused.
The and writing and drawing of the storyboard was mainly done by myself and Kathryn, with myself completing all the writing, and Kathryn drew the majority of the drawings with a some input from Annabelle and Felicity. Deciding what to include within the video was challenging as we wanted to include as many different ideas as possible within the time frame, using ideas everyone had come up with. This meant I conversed with Kathryn a lot, the same as she did when it came to drawing the frames. I also had to listen to the song multiple times to make sure the storyboard was alligned accurately. Myself and Kathryn completing the storyboard it meant we had all the control in what was included in the video, creating it to a high standard. In the end there was 54 frames for the entire video, with the song being a length of 2 minutes 52 seconds.
During these lessons when myself and Kathryn created the storyboard, Annabelle and Felicity were working on some Powerpoint.
